This book is Open Access under a CC BY license. This Open Access book explores a new multi-dimensional methodology for tackling the age-old ‘regressus’ debate in philosophy, and uses a nuanced variant of infinitism, backed by the probabilistic support provided by justification, to do so. This technique promises to lay the foundations of a robust and probabilistic brand of infinitism that does away with finitist influence and thereby lead to a resolution of the regress problem. The days of Aristotle’s ‘unmoved mover’, Aquinas’s ‘summum bonum’, and Spinoza’s ‘causa sui’ are, quite possibly, numbered.   The authors argue that current infinitism is frail, filled with unnecessary concessions to finitist views, and ultimately unable to tackle the regress problem. The aim of the book is to remedy this situation by taking the probabilistic turn seriously and tracing the details of its consequences for the regress problem in epistemology. It offers a probabilistic, critical evaluation of current forms of infinitism, explaining why they are unable to solve the regress problem. It then moves on to develop an innovative, many-dimensional variant of the regress problem.   What gives this volume added éclat is its thematic focus on epistemology, for it is in this field that the unresolved questions of regressus ad infinitum are the most pressing. This focus ensures that the current volume is a potential game-changer that challenges venerable philosophical intuitions and explain why they were mistakenly held. ?
