This book deals with the physical properties of particle aggregates in colloidal suspensions. It is divided into four main chapters. The first of them introduces important characterization techniques which are used for particle sizing, describing aggregate structures, or quantifying interfacial properties in colloidal suspensions. A further chapter is devoted to the physico-chemical fundamentals of colloidal suspensions. Particular attention is drawn to the interfacial properties and the corresponding interactions between particles. Chapter 4 examines the structure-property relations of colloidal aggregates. This comprises a presentation of analytical tools for the quantification of aggregate morphology, a section on the scattering behavior of aggregates with a separate discussion on light scattering, and an analysis of numerical tools for the computation of hydrodynamic aggregate properties.
