This will be the third edition of a best selling title and the only title available with direct applications to engineering design experiments. The new edition will be a thorough revision and update and will include new material on Monte-Carlo (MC) simulation which is now used extensively, a change from using 95% confidence uncertainties to using standard uncertainties (standard deviations) in conformance with internationally agreed upon practices and the new revision of ASME PTC19.1-2005 published in October 2006, and a new chapter covering ‘verification and validation of simulation results’. The authors are well known and respected and this second edition will include information that they alone have obtained in their work on US and international standards committees. A solutions manual will be available.
