The two-volume set LNICST 150 and 151 constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the First International Conference on Users-Centric IoT 2014, held in Rome, Italy, in October 2014. The 74 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 118 submissions and cover areas on software-defined and virtualized future wireless networks. In specific four conferences took place: COIOTE 2014 with focus on artificial intelligence techniques for the Internet of things, PERGAMES 2014 which covers the design and deploy of pervasive games and various sectors such as health-wellbeing, ambient assisted living, education, cultural heritage, tourism and more, HealthyIoT 2014 providing solutions to delivery of electronic healthcare, patient care and medical data management, and IoTaaS 2014 as an international venue for publishing results on the convergence of next-generation technologies and methodologies reshaping the way of life.
