Definition of topic (describe the topic of the book and its relationship to the broader picture): Book project on Biology & biotechnology of Aspergillus will composed of emerging issues on recent advancements made in area of Aspergillus research & its applications in bioprocess technology, chemical engineering, Genome biology, molecular taxonomy, secondary metabolite production, industrial process and biofuels/bioenergy research and alternative fuel development. This important fungus were found to secrete a range of novel enzymes and other useful proteins, and are still being studied extensively and improved for speci?c use in the food, textile, pulp and paper, biocellulosic ethanol production, and other industries. Aspergillus enzyme-encoding genes have been used to improve plant resistance to pathogens and salt stress. In the case of Aspergillus spp., some of the knowledge provided by functional genomics studies can be and are being directly implemented for improving the application of these bene?cial agents. A direct bene?t of these advancements is the recent appearance on the market of a new generation of products based on strains selected not only for their antagonist ability but also for the other known positive growth effects on crops. Proteomics and metabolomics characterization of the extracellular fraction, associated with in vivo assays, has allowed the Identi?cation of useful compound combinations/enzyme cocktails and of the fermentation conditions required to obtain them at an industrial scale. In conclusion, this book will provide updated information on best utilization of these fungi as natural tools (living microbes, metabolites, and genes) for meeting the next challenges of agriculture & Industry. Aspergillus spp. is very useful ?lamentous fungi. With the development of the biotechnological tools, their importance has extended beyond agriculture, into enzyme production, food industry, paper and pulp treatment, bioremediation, etc. The most recent achievements have been aided markedly by the application of genomics technologies. This will be a unique book of its own kind with updated research information on researches on Aspergillus. Due to increasing demand of chemical and biochemical products and for minimizing of industrial space, recycling of wastes, water and finally for designing cost effective chemical and biochemical units, the support of the this book on applications of Aspergillus would be essential. For recoveries of products, waste to energy, the knowledge of bioconversions, bioremediations and biotransformation are found to be essential to identify the potentiality of specific applications of these fungi and their uses in genetic engineering. It is well known, that these fungal species could modify the process of chemical units, involved in chemical and biochemical processes. However it should be emphasized, that the knowledge has to be developed to differentiate these microbes, as designed by genetic manipulations, through mutations and the microbes that are being designed by genetic engineering modifications. The content of this book is based on both basic & most recent developments in applications of Aspergillus that will match exactly the needs of graduate, postgraduate and research studies of universities /institutions working in the respective areas. Therefore, the community of biological sciences, biotechnologists, and chemical engineers, scientists, will be benefited in support of this book. With the increasing demands of Aspergillus through its product in biotechnology/industrial process, has made this fungus as most important microbial agent for day to day advancements in its research applications. Compiling the information related to updated research advancements on Aspergillus, will make this book as one of the best available literature for present as well future researches on biology & biotechnology of Aspergillus. So, proposed book will provide the info related to advancement made and ongoing process in the area of Aspergillus system along with updated info on possible future developments. For the laymen (Why should someone buy this book? Catching general description of the topic for a non-scientist)) Aspergillus is a genus of most valuable fungi in terms of biological as well as biotechnological use. Aspergillus releases a number of enzymes such as cellulase, amylase, protease, chitinase so Aspergillus is used to produce commercial enzyme. Therefore, it can be used to produce a wide range of products of commercial and ecological interest. For the user (why should he/she buy the book? A more scientific description of the book for the actual user/scientist/expert) Aspergillus researches and experimentations are activity used in to bioprocess technology, chemical engineering, bioremediation process, secondary metabolite production, Pharmaceutical processes, Protein production, industrial process, biofuels/bioenergy research and alternative fuel development, so, the main audience of the book will be biotechnologist, (bio)chemical engineers and biochemists (Related Sections: Section A: Biology and biodiversity B: Secretion and protein production; Section C: Secondary metabolism; Section D: Tools; Section E: Applications Aspergillus spp. is one of the most important fungi for plant system, helps in plant growth promotion. Also, there are many beneficial species of Aspergillus, so the knowledge of species diversity/genome biology in relation to natural ecosystem and evolutionary biology, will give an Idea to explore this fungi for perspective applications, so, chapters related to these areas makes the book useful for Microbiologists, Bioinformatics Researchers & other biologist as secondary audience (Section A: Biology and biodiversity; Section D: Tools). Therefore, proposed book aims to provide information to undergraduates, post-graduates and researchers studying in fields of Aspergillus. All the topics covered in the book will dealt with sound scientific footing. Chapters related to important research work on applications of Aspergillus will be invited from specialists in the concerned disciplines of International community. Also, all the chapter covered in the book will be derived from current peer reviewed literature as accepted by the international scientific community. It is expected that this will cater to the needs of researchers/academician of science dealing with Aspergillus spp. related research works. This publication will compile the info on latest development made and currently undergoing in the area of Aspergillus system. Chapter will be contributed from the excellent researchers of area around the globe. Readers will get up to date knowledge of the area. Book will include info related to almost all the area of Aspergillus research. It will cater the need of researchers and academics working in the area.
