Solid state electrochemistry I: fundamentals, materials and their applications

The handbook will combine the fundamental information and brief overview of recent advances in solid state electrochemistry, with primary focus on specialists working in this scientific field. Particular attention will be centered onthe most important developments performed during the last decade, methodological and theoretical aspects of solid state electrochemistry, and practical applications. The handbook will include 2-3 chapters with critical reviews on theoretical approaches, experimental methods and modelling techniques, providing necessary definitions and explaining relevant terminology. Several other chapters will cover all key groups of the ion-conducting solids important for practice, namely cationic, protonic, oxygen-anionic and mixed conductors, and also conducting polymer and hybrid materials. Finally, several chapters will present brief surveys on fundamentals and state-of-the-art developments in the fields of fuel cells, solid-state batteries, electrochemical sensors, and other applications of the ion-conducting solids.
