The book presents the results of the research work carried out in the contextof a study for the European Commission on the European Trade Mark system. It consists of an unique analysis of the current European trade mark law followedby proposals for the European legislator to amend the current European Law. Two complete synopses contain the current provisions of European trade mark lawand the provisions proposed for a revision of the law. The study is the starting point for the current discussion on the revisionof European trade mark law. The synopses reflect the implementation of the proposals contained in the study. The study and the synopses are of greatest topical interest for the relevant stakeholders. The European Commission will publish the Commission's proposals for the revision of European trade mark law in February 2012 at the earliest.
