Restorative Approaches for Young People

Restorative Justice has gained ground in the UK, initially within the Criminal Justice system, and increasingly during the last decade, in neighbourhood, workplace and school settings. Its rationale is supported in two ways: An ideological approach that strives to bring about harmony and pro-social interactions by emphasizing the quality of the relationship as a top priority Secondly based on evidence that punitive systems are destructive and ineffective.
