The field of photoacoustics has advanced significantly over the last years, and so has Materials Science and the need for methods to investigate gases and various materials, and layers thereof. E.g., novel infrared laser sources havebeen developed and used to acquire spectra of gases and condensed-phase materials. In this work, the latest developments ininstrumentation will be covered,the data analysis, as well as various examples for the applications of this technique.
