Discrete Mechanics of Capillary Bridges proposes an original resolution of Young-Laplace equation applied in capillary bridges from an inverse problem. It establishes a simple but explicit criterion based on the observation of the contact point, the wetting angle and the gorge radius, to classify in an exhaustive way the nature of the resulting capillary bridges. The binding forces, areas and volumes may also be calculated analytically. This book will clarify the classification of capillary bridges existing in literature It will provide an accurate method of identification of the shape of the meridian, associated to an explicit parameterization. It will propose a complete study of the stability based on the second variation criterion. INDICE: 1. History and general introduction2. Recall on Young Laplace equation3. Static liquid bridges of revolution: the general case4. Static bridges of revolution between two spheres5. The particular case of plates and cylinders6. General study of stability7. Experiments and identification of capillary bridges
