Punjabi immigrant mobility in the United States: adaptation through race and class

Mitra analyzes how race and class of immigrant Punjabi taxi drivers influencetheir settlement patterns in the United States. This objective is explored atthe micro and the macro level for a better grasp of how society shapes the 'choices' made by the informants as they adapt to America. This book is the first to take an in-depth look at the lives of immigrant Punjabis who drive yellowcabs in the New York metropolitan area. Additionally, the book will satisfy popular interests on yellow taxis and the people who drive them.
