Elementary lessons in historical english grammar containing accidence and word-formation

Richard Morris, LL.D.The present treatise has been drawn up at the urgent requestof numerous teachers, who asked for an easier and moreelementary work than my “Historical Outlines of EnglishAccidence”, published some two years ago. I have endeavouredto the best of my ability to produce a short historicalgrammar that might be advantageously used as an introductionto my larger book. I have not, however, made a new book bycutting down and compressing the old one. These “ElementaryLessons” constitute and entirely independent work, with manypeculiarities of arrangement that at once distinguish itfrom “Accidence”.
