Methodological and Technological Advances in Death Investigations will be distinguished from the wider literature in a variety of ways. The work will focus on the advancements of both methods and technology in death investigation. Specifically, in the areas of latent fingerprints, facial recognition, wildlife forensics, using aerial vehicles and 3D-ID. This is a significant divergence from literature most commonly provided by full-text books and reference resources. The combination of national and international authors and discussion of the state of forensic science, nearly a decade after the National Academies 2009 Report Strengthening Forensic Science in the United States: A Path Forward, further highlights the boundaries, limitations and context in which these newer technologies and applications act synergistically to enhance forensic science practitioners case work. Synthesizes new and emerging technologies to put them in perspective for researchers and practitioners, such as: facial recognition, using aerial vehicles and 3D-IDCase studies throughout explain how particular advanced technologies impact investigations, allowing scientists to gain insights into how to guide research and commercial technology evaluations from bench to practiceFills a gap in literature with more cross-disciplinary topics pertaining to death investigation INDICE: 1.
