His works include'A History of the Jews in the English-Speaking World: Great Britain' (Palgrave Macmillan 1996), 'The' 'Myth of Rescue' (1997), and 'Israel, the Jews and the West: The Fall and Rise of Antisemitism' (2008). MICHAEL JOLLES is a member of the Council of the Jewish Historical Society of England, and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He has authored 'A Directory of Distinguished British Jews, 1830-1930' and other works. HILARY L. RUBINSTEIN is a former Research Fellow in History at the University of Melbourne, Australia. She is a Fellowof the Royal Historical Society, and a member of the Council of the Navy Records Society. Her works include, as co-author, 'Philosemitism' (Palgrave Macmillan, 1999) and 'The Jews in the Modern World since 1750' (2002).
