This book presents the global landslide risk preparedness implemented throughthe International Programme on Landslides (IPL). IPL was initiated by the International Consortium on Landslides (ICL) in 2002, and developed to a joint international programme by the IPL Global Promotion Committee (UNESCO, WMO, FAO,UNISDR, UNU, ICSU and WFEO as well as ICL) through the 2006 Tokyo Action Plan.
