David Winter's book was one of the first books published in the area of biomechanics with a focus on human movement. The first edition was published in 1979, the second edition followed in 1990. The last edition published in 2002 is widely used and referenced. Over time the book has become a classic and Winters has become somewhat of a guru on the subject. Over the last decade the subject of biomechanics has exploded with more interest than ever being focused on the subject. In this proposed update, new material will be added to the coverage of 3D kinematics and kinetics, new material will be added on signal processing, and updates to all existing chapters will cover the changes that have occurred since the last edition published.
